DCTV: Previously On Your DC Shows - The End Of An Era

This is the final weekly review of all the DC Comics shows showing on the small screen. The Arrowverse: Arrow, The Flash, Legends Of Tomorrow and Supergirl; CW's Black Lightning; Fox's Gotham and Syfy's Krypton. This week saw the end of the 2017/2018 season on DCTV. All but one: Supergirl which i conveniently won't review alone - only when it's in need of special intervention. Thank you for your time. Supergirl(S03E19) I'm sorry, what?? Mon El has superspeed? How in H'ronmeer does he have superspeed? Earlier this season, I wanted to know how he can fly but now he's as fast as The Flash and no one is raising eyebrows. Actually, there are a lot of things to worry about in this episode. That heavily confusing talk Kara had with James Olsen: "Supergirl can't tell her that she can actually trust me because I'm her best friend, Kara, but Kara can't tell her why Supergirl took it so personally that she was using Kryptonite behind her

DCTV: Previously On Your DC Shows - Week Starting 14/05/18: Two Finales, Two Penultimates and you know, Supergirl.

Black Lightning and Legends of Tomorrow have wrapped up their 2017/2018 season. Supergirl(S03E18) Is it safe to say Lena knows Kara is Supergirl now??? I know I say this every week but that was an intense elevator conversation. "Hey, Kara, you are a sight for sore eyes." This episode does nothing different. Other than make you sob for J'onn's father troubles and remind you that Alex's super-suit has done nothing but fail her. We delve into relationship struggles - Imra V Mon El V Kara; We swim in  slight awe after the revelation - Reign has all the Worldkillers powers; Friendships tested - Lena's and Supergirl. And one murder. Alex be the most troubling character - after her gay relationship ended she's been trying hard to fit s

Three Shows That Shouldn't Be Cancelled.

Image
In the past week, it was bloodshed on the small screen as both Cable and Network broadcasters decided which shows they will be bringing back for the 2018/2019 season. You can find the cancelled list of shows  here Some shows are still hanging on a thread but there are three special(sort of) cases that shouldn't be given the red card. The thing is, the studios are holding back these announcements because these shows are wrapping up their 2017/2018 seasons and they want the finale ratings to roll in for cconsideration. And also, to find a way to easily drop the announcements without massive outrage. Actually, there is no easy way to tell me my favorite show has been cancelled. Timeless Timeless got cancelled after its first season last year and fans were enraged. A protest began on social media and the fans probably took to the streets too. In less than two days, NBC was forced to renew it for a second season which is the incredibly massive season we are all enjoying t

DCTV: Previously On Your DC Shows - Week Starting 07/05/18: Gotham Soars, Arrow follows.

This is the weekly review of the DC Comics shows showing on the small screen. The Arrowverse: Arrow, The Flash, Legends Of Tomorrow and Supergirl; CW's Black Lightning; Fox's Gotham and Syfy's Krypton. Black Lightning and Legends of Tomorrow have wrapped up their 2017/2018 season. Gotham is this week's MVP. My feelings on The Flash and Supergirl remains the same. Arrow gets to its destination and Krypton is still one hell of a place. Supergirl(S03E17) If you are sitting opposite Supergirl on a table; She's not masked, as always and she's speaking in her normal voice, will you not know that she's your bestfriend, Kara? Black Lightning has a cloaking device over his face. Green Arrow and The Flash wear (ineffective) masks on their faces but at least they even tried to cover their faces. Superman (Henry Cavill's) applies super-lotion to his hair when he's on costume. Supergirl? She doesn't even try. All she do is rock her Krypton made c

This is a weekly review of all the DC Comics shows showing on the small screen. The Arrowverse: Arrow, The Flash, Legends Of Tomorrow and Supergirl; CW's Black Lightning; Fox's Gotham and Syfy's Krypton. Black Lightning and Legends of Tomorrow have wrapped up their 2017/2018 season. Arrow's most intense episode ever. Was it the power of the two Marvel actors in the episode? Did Gotham just screwed it with The Joker? Where is Supergirl heading to? The Thinker is still out wild on The Flash. Are you ready to be enlightened? Do you believe in Rao? You should if you're on Krypton. Read on. Supergirl(S03E16) Wait? Social Media was short lived?? Come again, Mon El. Did you all heard that? That dude hinted that in the 31st century, there is no social media... said it's a "short-lived trend." What??? Okay, after a crucial scrutinization, Supergirl is on a different earth. Me? I'm on Earth-1 with Team Arrow and co. So on this episode, Team

Blocboy JB: 'Look Alive' Is Actually A Drake Song

Image
Officially, 'Look Alive,' which peaked at number 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts and catapulted Memphis youngster, Blocboy(real name James Baker) into mainstream fame is billed as BLOCBOY JB FT. DRAKE. As an ardent Drake fan, I've always found that quite confusing and wanted to talk about the possible expurgation but I've been roped around the success of God's Plan, its follow-up 'Nice For What' and the all-round goodness of the song in question. Until now. After reading Victor Luckerson's article on The Ringer about the unstoppable dominance of Aubrey 'Drake' Graham in the music industry... It's a laudable piece(I'm recommending). You can read the full article here. https://www.theringer.com/music/2018/4/13/17232272/drake-nice-for-what-guest-appearances A particular paragraph broke my camel's back: "Drake’s chart dominance alone is not grounds for antitrust enforcement." He wrote. "However, the
